How to edit an Agent's profile in BoomTown (Broker/Admin)

A guide for Broker/Admin users to edit an Agent's profile, including login email, website URL, photo, MLS ID, lead rotation, and user permissions.

Updated this week

Overview

As a Broker/Admin user, you can edit and update your Agent users' profiles from the Users - Agents page. This article covers how to access an Agent's profile and explains each section you can update, including login info, contact details, lead rotation settings, and user permissions.

Agents can also edit most of this information themselves from their My Profile page. Administrative settings — like user role, lead rotation, and restricted user status — can only be edited by a Broker/Admin.

⚠ Important: Do not edit an existing Agent's account to repurpose it for a new person on your team. Doing so can cause issues with text messages and emails sent through BoomTown. To add a new Agent, see How to add a new Agent user to BoomTown.

How to open an Agent's profile

  1. Open the left-hand navigation menu in BoomTown.

  2. Click the Admin tab to expand it.

  3. Select Users - Agents.

  4. Click the name of the Agent whose profile you want to edit.

You'll land on the Agent's individual profile page.

Note: After making changes in any section, click the Update Info or Update Settings button in that section to save. Changes are not saved automatically.

Agent profile sections explained

The Agent profile page is divided into the following sections:

Login Info

The Login Email is the Agent's log-in address for BoomTown and the address that receives all BoomTown-related emails.

  • To edit the email address: Click in the text box, make your changes, and click Update Login Email.

  • To reset the Agent's password: Click Reset Password. A temporary, randomly generated password is sent to the Agent's login email address.

Agent Website

Update the URL for the Agent's website (also known as the Agent subdomain). Most Broker/Admins use the Agent's first name.

The Agent's name replaces "www" in the URL. For example: http://agentname.yourcompanysite.com/

Change Photo

Add or update the Agent's profile photo.

Photo requirements:

  • File format: JPEG (.jpg or .jpeg)

  • Dimensions: 120 × 150 pixels

MLS Info

Enter the Agent's MLS ID so their listings display on their agent website under the My Listings tab. Agents can also add this ID later from their own profile page.

Personal Info

Update the Agent's contact and public-facing information, including:

  • Name

  • Phone numbers

  • Office location (if your team has multiple offices)

  • Professional Bio

  • Professional Title

  • Awards & Designations

  • Tag Line

  • Personal Website

Information entered here can display on the Agent's profile page on your public-facing website.

Additional Emails

Enter additional email addresses (separated by commas) to have BoomTown system notifications sent to more than one inbox.

Note: Emails entered here will not display on your website and will only be copied on system notifications — not on emails from leads.

Email Signature

Update the Agent's email signature. Check the box to attach the signature to all outgoing BoomTown emails by default.

User Roles

Set the Agent's user role:

  • Agent — Standard Agent-level access.

  • Broker/Admin — Full access, including the ability to add and manage other users.

Settings

  • Restricted User — Locks the Agent out of their account.

  • Craigslist Poster — Controls whether the Agent can use the Craigslist Poster feature.
