Overview
When setting up a Zap that creates or updates a lead in BoomTown, you will need to map fields from your source app to the corresponding fields in BoomTown. This tells Zapier which information from the Trigger app should populate each field in the lead's BoomTown profile.
This article covers every available field, which are required, and what each field controls.
Required fields
The following fields must be mapped for your Zap to save and function correctly.
First Name and Last Name
Map the first name and last name fields from your source app to these fields in BoomTown. Both are required for lead creation.
Note: Some apps β such as Calendly and Facebook Lead Ads β provide the lead's name as a single combined field. In these cases, you will need to add a Zapier Formatter step before the BoomTown Action to split the full name into separate First Name and Last Name fields. In the Formatter step, select Text as the type, Split Text as the Transform, and All (as Separate Fields) as the Segment Index. Then map the resulting separate fields to First Name and Last Name in BoomTown.
Source
Indicates which lead source the lead will be tagged with when added to BoomTown. Use the search bar within this field to find the appropriate source. Note that this field can take a moment to load. Do not type in a custom value, as this is not supported by BoomTown's API and will cause the lead to fail to import.
Suggested source values by integration:
Integration | Suggested Source Value |
Calendly | (choose the most relevant source for your workflow) |
Constant Contact | CONSTANTCONTACT |
Eventbrite | EVENTBRITE |
Facebook Lead Ads | FACEBOOKAD |
Google Contacts | |
Google Forms | |
Google Sheets | |
MailChimp | MAIL CHIMP |
Wufoo | WUFOO |
Import Type
Always select Api Import from the drop-down for this field.
Important: Api Bulk Import will not trigger new lead notifications for agents.
Buyer Assignment or Seller Assignment (at least one required)
These fields control which agent the lead is assigned to and determine the lead type:
Selecting a Buyer Assignment only creates a Buyer lead.
Selecting a Seller Assignment only creates a Seller lead.
Selecting both creates a Buyer/Seller lead.
For each assignment field, you can select a specific agent from your team, CurrentUser (the agent who authorized the Zap), or AutoAssign (assigns based on your team's rotation).
Buyer Category and Seller Category
Indicates the lead's category for the assigned Buyer Agent or Seller Agent when the lead is added to BoomTown. These fields are required when a Buyer or Seller Assignment is set.
Optional fields
The following fields are not required but are recommended to ensure leads are created with as complete a profile as possible.
Field | Description |
Email Address | The lead's email address from the source app. |
Day Phone | The lead's primary phone number from the source app. |
Lender Assignment | Select AutoAssign to assign a Lender based on your team's rotation. |
Welcome Email | Choose whether to send the lead a Standard Welcome Email, Buyer Registration Email, or Seller Registration Email when they are created. Leave blank to send no welcome email. |
Tag 1 and Tag 2 | Apply an existing Company tag to the lead at the time of creation. Only Company tags will appear as options β personal tags must be shared as Company tags first to appear here. Do not type in a custom value, as this is not supported by BoomTown's API and will cause the lead to fail to import. |
Viewing all available fields
By default, Zapier only displays the most common fields in the Action setup step. To see all available BoomTown fields, select Show Advanced Options above the Refresh Fields button at the bottom of the page.
Important: existing leads cannot be updated via Zapier
Zapier can only create new leads in BoomTown. If a lead coming through a Zap has an email address that already exists in your BoomTown account, the Zap will not successfully import that lead.
