Tags Overview

Tags are attributes you can assign to leads to capture information the CRM doesn’t automatically record. They’re also useful for filtering leads in Lead Central using Advanced Lead Filters, including the ability to exclude specific groups.

Creating Tags

To create a tag in Lead Central:

  1. In Lead Central, scroll to the bottom of the left-hand filter panel.

  2. Click the Manage Tags link located below the Advanced Lead Filters button.

  3. In the modal, type the name of your tag in the top field.

  4. Click the Create Tag button.

Note: Newly created tags are private by default — only visible to you until shared.

Sharing Tags (Converting to Company Tags)

By default, tags you create are only accessible to you. To make a tag available to your entire team, you can convert it into a Company tag.

Broker/Admin Only: Only Broker/Admin users can share tags. Agents do not have the ability to share tags — they can only use tags that have already been shared with them.

To share a tag:

  1. Open the Manage Tags modal.

  2. Click the Share button next to the tag you want to share.

  3. The tag will now appear as a Company tag and become available for all Agents to use.

Allow Agents to Create Their Own Tags

Broker/Admin Only: This setting is only available to Broker/Admin users.

To enable tag creation for Agents and Lender users:

  1. Open the Manage Tags modal.

  2. Toggle on Allow Agents to Create Their Own Tags at the bottom of the modal.

Once enabled, all Agent and Lender users on your account will be able to create their own personal tags.

Deleting a Tag

To delete a tag:

  1. Open the Manage Tags modal.

  2. Click the X button next to the tag you want to remove.

Important: If you delete a tag that is currently assigned to Agent leads, it will be removed from those leads as well. You will be asked to confirm before the deletion is completed.

How to Tag a Lead

Tags can be added to leads individually or in bulk.

Tag an Individual Lead

  1. Go to the lead’s profile.

  2. Click the Add a Tag + button in the profile header.

  3. Select a tag from the dropdown list.

Tag Leads in Bulk

  1. In Lead Central, click the Select button — or check the box next to each lead you want to tag.

  2. Open the Bulk Actions dropdown and select Add Tag.

  3. In the modal, select the tag you want to apply and click Add Tags.

  4. Review your selection and click Confirm.

After confirming:

  • A toast notification will appear in the lower right corner while the action is being processed.

  • Once complete, an email will be sent to your login address summarizing the bulk action.

The email will include:

  • Bulk action date

  • Number of leads successfully tagged

  • Number of leads that failed

  • Who requested the bulk action

Important: There is no way to remove a tag from leads in bulk. If a tag is applied to the wrong leads, you must either delete the tag entirely or remove it from each lead profile individually.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Agents share tags?

No. Only Broker/Admin users can share tags. When a Broker/Admin shares a tag, it becomes a Company tag that Agents can use. Agents cannot share their own tags, even if they have been given permission to create them.

Can I remove a tag from multiple leads at once?

No. There is currently no bulk remove option for tags. To remove a tag from multiple leads, you must either delete the tag entirely (which removes it from all leads) or visit each lead’s profile individually to remove it.

What happens if I delete a tag that Agents are using?

The tag will be removed from all leads it is currently applied to, including leads belonging to your Agents. You will be prompted to confirm this action before it takes effect.

Can I use tags to filter leads in Lead Central?

Yes. Tags are available under Advanced Lead Filters in Lead Central. You can use them to include or exclude specific groups of leads — making tags a useful workaround for filtering by criteria the CRM doesn’t natively support, such as custom lead sources.
