Who Can Export Leads
Only Broker/Admin users with the Allow Lead Export setting enabled can export leads from BoomTown.
Agent users cannot export leads. If you're an Agent and need a list, ask a Broker/Admin on your team to run the export for you.
Broker/Admin is required, but not sufficient on its own. The Allow Lead Export setting has to be turned on for your individual user account.
Broker/Admins cannot grant Allow Lead Export to themselves. Only a user who already has Export access can enable it for another user. If you're a Broker/Admin but don't yet have Allow Lead Export enabled, the Contract Holder (or another Broker/Admin who already has Export access) needs to turn it on for you.
Contract Holders typically have the highest level of access on their account and can turn on Allow Lead Export for themselves directly. See Turning on Allow Lead Export below.
Am I a Broker/Admin?
Your user role isn't shown on your profile. The clearest way to tell whether you have the Broker/Admin role is:
Do you see an Admin tab in the left-hand menu of your BoomTown account?
Yes, I see Admin → you're a Broker/Admin. You can potentially export leads, as long as Allow Lead Export is enabled on your user profile.
No, I don't see Admin → you're an Agent or Agent Profile-Only user. You cannot export leads. Ask a Broker/Admin on your team to run the export for you.
How to Export Leads
If you're a Broker/Admin and Allow Lead Export is enabled on your user profile, follow these steps to export a lead list from Lead Central.
Steps
In the left-hand menu, click Lead Central.
Use the left-hand filter panel (and Advanced Lead Filters if needed) to narrow your lead list to just the leads you want to export.
At the top of the lead list, click the Select drop-down and choose All (or check individual leads manually).
Click the Bulk Actions drop-down at the top of the lead list.
Select Export from the Bulk Actions menu.
In the pop-up, choose your file format. We recommend CSV over XLSX for best compatibility with spreadsheets and other CRMs.
Click the Export button in the bottom right of the format window.
In the final confirmation window, click the red Confirm button.
Your exported file will be emailed to the login email address on your user account. Large exports may take a few minutes to arrive.
Where the Export button lives
The Export option is inside the Bulk Actions drop-down at the top of the Lead Central lead list.
A few things that commonly trip people up:
Bulk Actions doesn't activate until at least one lead is selected. If the drop-down looks disabled or doesn't show an Export option, select at least one lead using the Select drop-down or by checking a lead's checkbox.
Export is inside Bulk Actions — it's not a standalone button.
You have to be in Lead Central specifically. The Export option does not appear in the Opportunity Wall, Hot Sheet, or other lead views.
Filtering leads by Agent
To export only the leads assigned to a specific Agent, use the Agent drop-down in the left-hand filter panel of Lead Central before running the export. Broker/Admins can filter by any Agent on the team.
Turning on Allow Lead Export
Allow Lead Export is a setting on each user's individual profile. It's not on by default — it has to be enabled explicitly, even for Contract Holders.
If you're the Contract Holder
Contract Holders can turn on Allow Lead Export for themselves at any time.
In the left-hand menu, click Admin.
Click Users – Agents.
On the Manage Agents page, click your own name to open your user profile.
Scroll down to the Settings section (near the bottom of the page).
Check the Allow Lead Export box.
Click Update Settings at the bottom of the page.
The Export option should now appear in Bulk Actions when you're in Lead Central with leads selected.
If you're a Broker/Admin who isn't the Contract Holder
You cannot enable Allow Lead Export for yourself, even though you're a Broker/Admin. Only a user who already has Export access can grant it to others.
To get Allow Lead Export turned on for your account, ask:
The Contract Holder (who can always grant this permission), or
Another Broker/Admin on your team who already has Allow Lead Export enabled (they can turn it on for you by opening your profile under Admin → Users – Agents → your name → Settings section → Allow Lead Export → Update Settings).
If no one on your team currently has Allow Lead Export enabled, the Contract Holder will need to be the one to turn it on — first for themselves, and then for anyone else who needs it.
Agent users cannot enable this setting for themselves or anyone else. Export access is only managed by Broker/Admins who already have it enabled, or by the Contract Holder.
Troubleshooting: I can't see the Export button
Work through these checks in order.
1. Confirm you're in Lead Central and have selected leads
Open Lead Central from the left-hand menu. Select at least one lead using the Select drop-down or by checking individual checkboxes. Then click Bulk Actions — the Export option should appear.
If Bulk Actions is visible but Export isn't one of the options, continue to the next step.
2. Confirm you have the Broker/Admin role
Look at your left-hand menu. If you don't see an Admin tab, you are not a Broker/Admin and cannot export leads. Ask a Broker/Admin on your team to run the export for you.
If you do see the Admin tab, continue to the next step.
3. Confirm Allow Lead Export is enabled on your profile
Click Admin → Users – Agents.
Click your own name to open your profile.
Scroll down to the Settings section (near the bottom).
Check whether Allow Lead Export is checked.
If it's not checked:
If you're the Contract Holder, check the box and click Update Settings. Return to Lead Central — Export should now appear in Bulk Actions.
If you're a Broker/Admin who isn't the Contract Holder, you cannot enable this setting for yourself. Ask the Contract Holder (or another Broker/Admin who already has Allow Lead Export enabled) to turn it on for you.
If Allow Lead Export is already checked, continue to the next step.
4. Still no Export option?
If Allow Lead Export is checked on your user profile, you're in Lead Central with at least one lead selected, and Export still does not appear in Bulk Actions, try these additional steps:
Refresh the page. Permission changes can sometimes take a page refresh (or a fresh login) to take effect. Log out of BoomTown, log back in, return to Lead Central, and check Bulk Actions again.
Clear your browser cache, or try a different browser. Cached page data can hide new menu options. Try the export in an Incognito / Private window, or in a different browser like Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari.
Double-check you opened the right user profile. When Allow Lead Export was turned on, make sure it was enabled on your user profile under Admin → Users – Agents, not on a different user with a similar name. Open Admin → Users – Agents, click your own name, and confirm Allow Lead Export is still checked in the Settings section.
Confirm at least one lead is selected. The Export option only appears in Bulk Actions when at least one lead in the list has a checkmark next to it. The Select drop-down at the top of Lead Central (with All or None options) is the fastest way to make sure selections are applied.
After You Export
What the export email looks like
The export is delivered by an automated email with the following details:
Sender:
no-reply@boomtownroi.comSubject line:
[BULK ACTION : Export]:: <Your Company Name>Body: A Bulk Action Summary (date, number of successful and failed actions, who ran the export) followed by a download link for the file.
To download your export, click the link in the email body. The file downloads as a CSV (or XLSX, depending on the format you selected at export).
Download your export promptly — the link expires. For security, the download link in the email has a limited lifespan. Click and save the file as soon as possible after the email arrives. If the link has expired, you'll need to re-run the export from Lead Central.
You must be logged in to the BoomTown account that ran the export. The download link only works for the user who requested it. If you click the link from a browser where you're not logged in — or where you're logged in as a different user — the download will fail. Log in to BoomTown first in the same browser, then click the link.
Where the exported file goes
Exports are emailed to the login email address of the user who initiated the export — not downloaded directly to your computer from Lead Central. This email is separate from any other BoomTown notifications you receive.
To confirm which email address will receive the export, click your name or profile photo in the upper right corner → My Profile → Login Info.
My export email didn't arrive
If the export email isn't in your inbox within 15 minutes:
Check your spam or junk folder. Exports come from
no-reply@boomtownroi.comand are sometimes filtered as spam — especially on first use. Addno-reply@boomtownroi.comto your safe senders list to prevent future exports from being filtered.Search your inbox for the subject line. Look for
[BULK ACTION : Export]— this works even if the sender isn't in your address book.Verify the email address on your user profile. Exports go to the login email on your user profile, which may differ from where you normally receive BoomTown notifications. Confirm it under your name or profile photo → My Profile → Login Info.
Wait a little longer if the export is large. Very large exports can take several minutes to generate.
Still nothing after an hour? Re-run the export from Lead Central — occasionally an export email doesn't send successfully on the first try, and re-running is the fastest way to regenerate the file. Before you do, verify one more time that the login email on your user profile (My Profile → Login Info) is the address you're checking.
The link in my export email doesn't work
If you received the export email but clicking the download link produces an error or goes to a login page:
Confirm you're logged into the BoomTown account that ran the export. Open a new browser tab, go to
https://leads.boomtownroi.com, and log in with the same credentials as the account that requested the export. Then go back and click the download link.Check whether you're logged in as a different user. If your browser is signed in to BoomTown under a different user (for example, another Broker/Admin on the team), the link won't work. Log out and log back in as the user who ran the export.
Check whether the link has expired. Download links expire after a limited time for security. If the link no longer works and you've confirmed you're logged in correctly, re-run the export from Lead Central.
Try a different browser. If your usual browser has multiple profiles or session conflicts, opening the link in a fresh browser window (and logging in there) can resolve it.
