How to Send a Targeted Bulk Text

Step-by-step instructions for sending a targeted bulk text in BoomTown, including daily limits, queue behavior, and viewing send results."

If you have a targeted group of leads you'd like to reach at once, bulk texting can be done directly through Lead Central.

Note: The Send Text option must be enabled for your account. If you don't see it in Bulk Actions, contact your Broker/Admin to have the feature turned on.


Daily Sending Limit

Important: To protect your BoomTown number's deliverability, each user is limited to 200 bulk text messages per day. This is a cumulative limit β€” every lead texted through the bulk feature counts toward your daily total, regardless of how many separate sends you make. Once you reach 200, bulk texting resets at midnight local time.


How to Send a Bulk Text

  1. In Lead Central, use the filters in the left panel to build your targeted group of leads.

  2. Select leads by clicking the Select button at the top of your lead list, or check the box next to individual leads to select them manually.

  3. Click Bulk Actions at the top of Lead Central and select Send Text from the dropdown.

  4. In the composition window, either select a saved Text Template from the dropdown or write a custom message. Use the Template Text dropdown above the message body to personalize with lead-specific fields like first name.

  5. Review the statistics at the top of the window. These show how many selected leads have valid phone numbers and how many have been marked as Invalid or Opted-Out. Messages are only sent to leads with valid phone numbers.

  6. Click Preview Text to see how your message will appear to leads before sending.

  7. Click Send Text to send the message to all selected leads with valid phone numbers.


How the Send Queue Works

Bulk texts are sent individually in rapid succession through an internal queue. Any texts sent β€” individually or in bulk β€” while a bulk send is still in progress will be queued until the original send completes.

Note: If you send a follow-up text shortly after a bulk send, it may be delayed while the queue clears. This is expected behavior, particularly when texting large groups.


After You Send

Once the bulk text is sent, you will automatically receive an email notification at your login address with a summary of the send, including:

  • How many messages were sent

  • How many were successful

  • How many (if any) failed to send


Preparing for Responses

Texting generates significantly higher and faster response rates than email. Before sending a bulk text, make sure you have capacity to follow up promptly when leads reply.

Segment your leads carefully before sending so you can respond in a way that's relevant to each lead's situation when they get back to you.
